New look

I was getting bored of the look of my Blog so I've given it a bit of a face lift using one of the fab backgrounds from http://www.thecutestblogontheblock.com/ . They have loads of great backgrounds as well as headers and tutorials on how to customize your blog. I'm quite pleased with how it looks for the moment. All that's left to do now is create a signature.

New Do!

Not a crating post but I know that my friends on UKS wanted to see my new hair so here it is!
Its taking some getting used to. I nearly changed my mind when I took my before photo. My hair looked so shiny! I never wear it down though and its always in a scruffy pony tail so it seems silly to keep it. It was hard to brush and really hot in the summer so its gone!

Feb week 1

This is my attempt at the Week 1 challenge over at UKS . The Stitching took forever but I'm really pleased with how it turned out. I used a paper piercing pattern from Fred She Said and used DMC lights to stitch the design. The page looks kind of orange in the photo but it is actually all pink. I used a couple of postage stamps from a collection I picked up in a charity shop a while back and the tickets are some I've had laying about for ages.

February 2011 House Challenge

I've been so poorly for the last few days that I've not had the energy to craft. We had a mad dash to the doctors earlier when breathing got tricky as my throat had swollen so badly. I feel so much better after being given some meds to bring the swelling down. It might mean I get a full nights sleep!
I had a go at the UKSCRAPPERS house challenge. We had to follow the sketch and use fabric or fibres on the layout.
I made the fabric flower from a piece of organza from a pack from the pound shop and a lovely brad with a gem mounted on it.
The journaling block is from a pad of magnetic shopping lists that I also got in the pound shop. I just cut off the lettering at the top and stuck the 2 pieces back together.
This layout will be another one towards our wedding album.

Week 5 Challenge

Here is my take on the UKS Week 5 Challenge. I really had fun with this one and I'm going to use it in my "Book of Me"
We had to use only 4 of the following in the challenge
• Scrap only in two colours
• Use ripping and tearing - no scissors allowed
• Use Doodling
• Use Distressing inks/sprays
• Use Resist technique
• Use Faux Batik technique
• Use a mask
• Use 1 stamp
Journaling in the form of a letter
• Hidden Journaling
• Hand-written Journalling
• Use 10 of something
• Use a clock face/calendar to represent time
• Use a lock and key as an embellishment
• Use ribbon but not in the form of a bow
• Use a non scrapping material on your LO
• Use recycled material on your LO

Plus the Sketch that was provided and one theme from the choice.

I have used Hidden journaling-I have written a diary about my thoughts and what has happened in January 2011

A calendar-Printed from Microsoft Publisher

A mask- Not the type that was meant I don't think, I think when masks was mentioned it meant the type that you use to stop ink going in certain places on your layout. The mask was cut on the Robo and sprayed with Mica mist.

2 Colours- I used only Blue and white. I never really use blue but January has been a bit of a blue month for me so I thought it was fitting.
