Hi Everyone! I just thought I'd better write a little something on here to let you know I'm still alive lol. I'm not crafting much at the moment though, I've just made Dannie's (my best mate) wedding invitations but I wont be posting pics to the Internet until the invites have been sent out. The only thing I will give away about them is that I tried something new and had a play with polymer clay and beading!
There isn't all that much in the way of craft space in the new flat and as my stash is still all put away and tidy from the move I'm reluctant to get it all out and make a mess lol.
I actually have a new addiction..... VAMPIRES! I've read 9 Charlaine Harris (sookie stackhouse/Trueblood/southern Vampire) books and the 4 books in the twilight saga most recently and I'm so hooked!!! We went to watch the second film in the Twilight saga (new moon) on Friday and it was fab. I might attempt a twilight themed layout to get me crafting again :-)
Hi all, I've been REALLY slack with my crafting, I've made one card and that's all and the only reason I made that was because I really had to!
I just cant seem to settle at the moment, I'm presuming its because I've got the whole moving house thing on my mind, its going to be in around 8 weeks time but I'm such a worrier...
Anyway, Brenda over at Brenda's joy
has been kind enough to give me this blog award. Thank you very much Brenda :-)
I would like to pass this award on to Bernie on her blog My Digi Life
Not only is her work fantastic but she is really friendly and helpful too! So here you go Bernie, an award for you x
Well I'm all behind on my challenges this month, July has flown by so fast. I've manage the week one challenge and the house challenge and plan to catch up on the others tomorrow after I've cleaned the flat from top to bottom before someone comes to view it.
I enjoyed doing this layout, it features the entertainment team from Beverly park where we went on holiday. I have to say, I've never seen entertainment like it. It was DREADFUL! From a 60 year old bloke stripping to his boxers to a couple of girls looking like 80's rejects spitting water at each other. The holiday was fab but the entertainment had a lot to be desired! On one night the entertainment team for the sister park put on a great show, we will stay there the next time we go!
What made me laugh most was the fact they have been there for years, hasn't anyone else ever complained? we were talking to other guests and nobody could believe how terrible it was. Anyway, here is the layout.....
Title referencing summer - 10 points
Summer theme - 5 points
Using ribbon - 5 points
2 pics - 5 points
Secret Journalling - 5 points
A great weekly challenge this week set by The Pink Glitter Gals.
The challenge was
Scrap the preparation or aftermath of a celebration - 10ptsInclude pink - 5ptsUse minimal journaling, let your photos tell the story and use at least four photos - 5ptsUse one of the two sketches provided - 10 pts
I didn't have the photos to do the preparation or aftermath bit but it will make me think about taking a new style of photo in future.
My title is cut on the Robo doing the dreaded print and cut and I'm pleased with how it turned out.
I just loved the choice of sketches but after having a bash at one with circles I settled on the second of the two choices which was this on, borrowed with permission from Prima Marketing.
I made this layout using pics Tara took on holiday. Wayne managed to convince me to go on one of those games in the arcade where it electrocutes you ( it's vibrations really) and you see how long you can hold on for. I was really nervous of it at first but we both laughed our heads off when it started.
I was a little out of my comfort zone with this layout, I used vellum and I've not really used it before, I like the look of muted tones coming through it and used stazon ink to do the journaling.
This layout was done for the week 4 June challenge on UKS. We had to scrap the men in our lives and I think this layout sums Wayne up nicely really, When he was given charge of the camera he managed to snap this sneaky shot of my boobs!
This is a layout I've done for the weekly challenge on UKS.
I'm slowly but surely working my way through my huge stack of patterned papers, I've vowed not to buy anymore until a good half of them are gone. That's not going to stop me buying blooms and bling though, they are my new found passion!
I really need to stop using my dymo on every layout, I just love the way it looks though so I wont hold my breath lol.
Hi Everyone!
Its been a lovely sunny day here but I've been stuck in bed for half of it with one of my evil headaches, never mind though, I'm feeling better now. I managed to get 2 layouts down last night and I must say that I'm really really pleased with both of them.
I took Tara into town yesterday to get her wellies for her trip at the end of the month, it wasn't an easy task as half the shoe shops have closed down and the ones that are still running are stocked with summer shoes. We did managed to find a lovely trendy pair in the end for £9.99 so we were pleased with that. I grabbed myself some mini stacking drawers from poundland, perfect for storing brads, buttons and double sided tape!
I think Tara is a bit miffed I've scrapped this photo hehe, I think its a great one of her! She loves being like mummy and getting her makeup on or getting dressed up. I can't say she's ever seen me do the whole salad vegetables on the eyes thing but she's seen it on TV and had been pestering me to have a go. The face pack lasted all of about 1 minute before she laughed and cracked it lol. I got some great shots of her on holiday and as she's the most amazing thing in the world I love scrapping her. I've got nearly 300 pics to be getting on with and most are of Tara so I'll be enjoying my scrapbooking over the next few months!
On this layout I used a couple of rub ons on the edges of the photo to try and break up the plain cream colour of the sofa she is on, I've not used rub ons straight onto a photo before and I'm pleased with the result.
Check me out! I've spent all day playing in adobe photoshop and but together a new background and header using A freebie called in bloom from HERE
I wasn't sure if I could mange it but I'm pleased with the result.
My mojo seems to have vanished again but I've been wanting to get something crafty made so knowing Wayne wanted a bookmark I gave it a go. you cant really see the silver cut away shapes well in the scan but over all I'm pleased with it and Wayne likes it so that's what matters.
I've tried another digital layout, I like this one more than my first attempt but I still think I prefer getting down and messy using the traditional method.
Most of the papers and elements are from this wonderful site http://scrapsgwenn.blogspot.com/
I'm finding the most addictive thing about digital scrapping is collecting the kits!
I've been busy catching up with all my Scrap booking, after coming back from our holiday I have 222 Pics to play with so I thought I'd better get my birthday photo's scrap booked so I can crack on with the holiday ones.
This layout features my friend Sharon, We met under unpleasant circumstances after she broke up with an ex we had both had the misfortune to be with and have formed a great friendship, She is a strong beautiful woman and I'm so pleased we become friends.
Well, I decided to try my hand at Digi scrapping and its harder than it looks! I first of all tried it in Paintshop pro and then in Photoshop, as expected I didn't get on with photoshop at all and for some reason I was having size issues in paintshop. Well anyway, I had scrapbook factory installed on my PC so I had a go in that, I was never sure what it did until last night but I must say I loved it. Here is the result....
Well the weather has been on and off but we have had some really lovely days down here in Devon. We all caught the sun on a walk down to Kitley Quay last week. The Easter Hols have been fairly lazy, we have been to the cinema to see monsters V's aliens and popped into town a few times but nothing major.
I've been trying to decide on a way to store my ribbons and decided that the E Z pull ribbon pouch was a good idea but coming in at £20 I decided it was a bit of a rip off! So being a crafter I really had to have a go at making my own. All it is is a makeup bag with holes punched in the vinyl stuff! I did start out putting large eyelets in the holes but soon decided it really didn't need them and that I was prob driving the woman downstairs nuts with all the banging! The ribbon purse works a treat so no more messy ribbons!
I've managed a bit of scrapping over the holiday too, The tooth fairy brought Tara a 12x12 scrapbook that she's been after, the poor little mite had to have 3 teeth out over the last week to make room for others to come through, she was very brave. I've been waiting for some card I ordered to arrive and it has come today so I might try a few more layouts later. I managed to get some nice 12x12 from American crafts from a sponsor on UKS for about 27p per sheet, its a nice card and I can't wait to have a play.
Here is a layout featuring Tara posing that I made earlier.
I've not posted for over a month, been busy busy busy with my second (or first if i'm honest) love of the MMORPG World of Warcraft. The guild I'm a proud member of is setting up a core raiding team that I am a part of so I'm being required to raid 3 nights a week at the moment.
Raiding is pretty much where 25 of us, all behind or computers in our own homes all play together to achieve the same goal. Our goal at the moment is to kill the dragon boss Malygos, we had him on 2% last night, our best attempt yet!
I've joined a couple of yahoo groups in the last few days, both related to crafting so hopefully I will have a little more to share with you in the coming months.
Its the weekend of the Who Dunnit Cyber crop on UKScrappers and its been great fun so far. I was a bit dubious about joining at first but I'm glad I did. Its given my chance to experiment with some things I haven't tried before such as water colour paint.
I Really like this picture of my friend Nancy and I'm pleased with how the Layout has turned out.Wayne was an Angel tonight and moved the front room about so I've got more room for my craft. All my stash is in one place now and I might just scrap all night lol.
Paula over at Pollycraft is giving away a set of her wonderful stamps, I have fallen head over heels in love with these and I can imagine them on all sorts of different cards and scrap pages. Here is the link, take a look Pollycraft. This reminds me, I really have to pull my finger out on my pass it forward, I've been meaning to for months! At the moment I'm totally hooked on the who dunnit? cyber crop that is happening over at UKSSo far I've taken finger prints, Made a layout using them, made a tag, A bag and something with eyelets.
